New Year, Renewed Faith: 11 Scriptures to Guide Your Walk With Jesus in 2025

As you enter into 2025, do you want to renew your faith and grow closer to God?

Here are 11 Scriptures for the New Year to guide your walk with Jesus. Anchor your faith journey through daily meditations, post them around your house, use them as phone wallpaper, and plant them in your heart to help you stay focused on your life’s purpose.

New Year, Same Jesus

Hebrews 13:8 NLT

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

It may be a new year, but we can rest easy in the knowledge that Jesus is the same loving and compassionate Lord of lord and King of kings that He always has been. He is a constant that we can depend on and trust always.

Joy in 2025

Psalm 16:11 CSB

“You reveal the path of life to me;

in your presence is abundant joy;

at your right hand are eternal pleasures.”

If you want to experience joy in 2025, look for it in God’s presence. He leads us to life, joy, and eternal pleasures. Psalm 16 is a prophetic psalm about Jesus, and we can rest assured that there is joy in Him.

Having All You Need in 2025

Matthew 6:33 NLT

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

God knows all that you need, even better than you do. Seek His Kingdom, and He who is faithful will meet your needs. This isn’t a promise of giving you whatever you want, but you will not be lacking in those things that are necessary for you to live and walk with Him.

A Fruitful Year

John 15:5 NLT

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing.”

To have a fruitful year, you need to abide in Jesus. He is your lifeline and sacrificially offers you an abundant life with a purpose that has deep meaning. Abide in Him, and your year will be fruitful.

Ask For God’s Will

Psalm 143:10 NLT

“Teach me to do your will,

for you are my God.

May your gracious Spirit lead me forward

on a firm footing.”

God’s gracious Spirit will lead you through the new year with wisdom and kindness if you ask. You can enter 2025 on a firm footing as you learn to do His will. What more could you want in the new year?

Loving God in the New Year

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 NLT

“Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.”

The Year of Faithful Health

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT

“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”

Perhaps this is the year you have decided to prioritize your health, whether how you eat or with movement. If so, meditating on this verse can help you by reminding you that you are a steward of the body God has given you. Even your health is a gift given to you by the Lord.

Condemnation Free New Year

John 3:17 NLT

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

About 3 weeks into the new year, many people have given up their resolutions and wrestled with shame and feelings of failure. This is different from how Jesus sees you, even if you don’t take a step toward your goals. Jesus didn’t come to judge you but to save you. What a gift!

So, let that judgment of yourself go and ask God to help you see yourself the way He sees you.

Confession in 2025

James 5:16 NLT

“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

Confession is freeing. It can seem scary and requires vulnerability, but it is worth it. God designed it to be worth the risk.

Meditating on this verse may inspire you to step out in faith through confession and boldly pray for others, as well as invite others to pray for you.

Waiting For God’s Timing

Isaiah 60:22 NLT

“The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”

You can step into 2025 knowing that God will make things happen at the right time. You don’t get to sit back and wait for Him to do it all, but you can trust Him with the timing and the results.

Spending time reflecting on and praying this verse back to God will help you walk more closely with Jesus as you grow in your trust in His perfect timing.

How to Live in the New Year

1 Corinthians 10:33 NLT

“I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don’t just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved.”

Finally, as you grow in your relationship with Jesus, you will grow in your sacrificial love for others. You can learn to make your choices based on the Kingdom and what will help others come in an experiential and saving knowledge of Jesus.

Your Walk With Jesus

So whether you pick one verse, all of the verses, or even choose your own verse, your relationship with Jesus will deepen as you spend time in His Word. Walking with Jesus is the only way to experience the abundant life in 2025 truly.
