God’s Heart Pulsates with Ours

The very essence of Christianity…is that we have a mighty power, the heart of God’s pulsating within ours. His life, his heart is a mighty pulsating force into our hearts and lives

The Christian life is one of a love mission. We are to be God’s expression of love to a hurting world. The more intimate we become with God the easier it is to love as He loves. We make an important commitment when we say to people “I will pray for you.”

The sad thing is this random comment often remains nothing but well-meant expression of concern. But when we learn to stop right there as we descend with our mind into our heart, then all those who have become part of our lives are led as we are into the healing presence of God as we all are touched by him in the center of our being.

We are speaking here about the mystery of the heart. The mystery of God’s heart is the center of our being, He is transforming our heart into his own heart, a heart large enough to embrace the entire universe with His love. In the solitude of our hearts we can truly listen to the pains of the world not as strange or unfamiliar pains, but as pains that are indeed our own.

In our hearts, which are pulsating with God’s heartbeat we see that what is most universal is most personal and that nothing human is strange to us. We feel with all humanity the cruel reality of the world is indeed the reality of the human heart, our own included.

In our hearts through prayer we carry all human sorrow and pain, torture and war, misery, hunger, loneliness, agonies and conflicts. Not because we have some great emotional or psychological capacity, but because God’s heart has become one with ours as they pulsate together.

“Unless the Lord had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your love, O Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.” (Psalm 94:17-19)
