The Haiti Challenge. Three Days, One Orphanage & You. Nov 29-Dev 1, 2013.

Watch a video from the ground breaking!

Thanks to the generosity and selflessness of our customers, we raised enough funding for a year of construction on our neonatal and infant orphanage in Haiti. We join God’s Littlest Angels (GLA) in prayer and belief that God will see this project through to completion!

On February 5, we broke ground on the orphanage! That Wednesday morning, the significance of what was about to unfold grabbed everyone: our team, GLA's staff and the Haitian construction workers. As they gathered around the space, a prayer was said, GLA's founders spoke about their humble beginning and we talked about how our relationship with GLA has grown. Even though the orphanage isn't finished, we could envision the end when the ribbon was cut.

Dennis Tyson, Construction Leader on The Haiti Challenge, spoke to the unforgettable day and its impact:

"You could see the major action behind the words, the power of what we were doing and the engagement of our customer."

The story behind The Haiti Challenge

The need is great, and God is calling us to act!

So many children in Haiti are premature, malnourished and abandoned. Our partner, God's Littlest Angels (GLA), is an independent, non-denominational ministry dedicated to providing nursery care for these children. Their orphanage in Pétion-Ville, Haiti, currently serves 160 children but is a temporary location with inadequate space and equipment. The development of a new orphanage allows for more children to be cared for—and be adopted. What is exciting about partnering with GLA is their history: Over the past 20 years, more than 1,000 children have been adopted by loving Christian families. GLA has a 100% adoption rate, so every child will be placed in a forever home!

We're no strangers to Haiti. Since partnering with GLA in 2010, we’ve built six “orphan cottages” that serve and care for Haitian toddlers. Becoming a nonprofit and giving 100% of our earnings to Christian charities has extended our reach. For this particular weekend, God has called us to one part of the world: Haiti. And together, with our customers, we’re answering.
